The Planning and Grants Department

The Deparment of merged Planning and Grants and through the integration of these two departments, any overlap in duties and reponsibilities were eliminated. The most significant benefit of this was a coordinated and more responsive approach to Eastern Shoshone Planning and development as well as an integrated capability to address future economic development needs of the Tribe.

Grants is a critical piece with internal and external efforts in grant management activites that ultimately result in the implementation of the projects directed by the Shoshone Business Council. The range of programs that are administered range from small capital improvements to community centers and multi-year reviatlization projects. A major piece of the management effort provides a array of services for projects as well as program development and implmentation. Preservation activities are another major component because Fort Washakie is on the National Register of Historic Places.
