Although dealing with the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, the Fort Bridger Treaty of 1868 provided the legal means to relocate the Fort Hall Shoshone and Bannock to the reservation at Fort Hall, Idaho. The reservation had been established the previous year for the Boise and Bruneau bands of Shoshone.
